On June 27th, 2012 at 7PM Smokey Bones will hold it’s second annual Burger Battle at all 73 locations in 17 States (the locations and states figures is the best we can come up with and short of running a zip code search for their location finder for every state in the US is probably the best we will come up with). It seems the Smokey Bones is not very good at making certain information known including the details of their competition. Most of the information below is based upon an article in the Sun Sentinal 4 days before last years contest. So they do eventually give more details. Outside of the date, time, entry fee and grand prize, which they have announced I would suggest contacting a local Smokey Bones to verify the rest.
DATE AND TIME OF EATING COMPETITION:
7:00pm on Wednesday, June 27, 2012.
THE EATING CONTEST:
(This is how last years competition was held, it is unclear if this years will follow the same guideline) During the first two rounds, eaters eat half pound build-a-burgers with choice of brisket or pulled pork topping in addition to a cold topping, hot topping, cheese and specialty sauce. The 10 fastest eaters advance to the next round.
The 10 fastest at each restaurant compete in the burger blitz. Eaters will be timed as they eat a one-pound build-a-burger.

PRIZE:
(again based on last year except for the grand prize)First place eater at each restaurant gets a $200 gift certificate for Smokey Bones. The winner with the fastest time, chain-wide, wins a party for 20 guests at their Smokey Bones location and $2,500. All participants who do not win a first place prize receive a $5 card for use after the contest or during their next visit.
OTHER COMPETITION REGISTRATION RULES:
Each location will accept 40 to 70 eaters. Deadline to enter is Tuesday and all eaters must be at least 18 years old. Applications are at Smokey Bones locations.
