When someone came in and ate 2 of their 4 pound Big Ass Challenge Burger they decided to make it a little more difficult, ok a lot more difficult.

Eat 8 1/4lb patties with 8 slices of cheese, topped with bacon, jalapenos and BBQ sauce on a bun. (we are checking on the time limits)

Crepes Bonaparte – Nutella Eating Contest

Well a lot has been going on with Best Food Challenges over the past week, so why not add a couple more firsts. This is the first time we have featured a Nutella eating competition, the first time we have featured a gourmet food truck, and the first time the location was a parking lot.
But this isn’t any ordinary food truck. In case you haven’t heard of it yet, and if your from Southern California it’s hard not to have, Crepes Bonaparte has competed on The Food Network’s The Great Food Truck Race, are going to be on Giada at Home and Eat St. on the Cooking Chanel, and has been in San Diego Magazine. Not a bad two year period.

DATE AND TIME OF EATING CONTEST

Friday May 25th, 2012. 8:30AM – 10 AM

EATING CONTEST:

Contestants have 2 minutes to eat as much of a 26 ounce jar of Nutella as they can.

$5.00, includes one free crepe and the proceeds are donated to the Front Burner Fund.

EATING COMPETITION WINNING PRIZE:

The winner will be get a glorious Beret, be photographed in the beret and the photopic will be displayed in the Crepes Bonaparte truck for a year as the Ultimate Grand Supreme Nutella Champion. Oh and the winner also gets a free crepe per week for a year.

MISCELLANEOUS EATING CONTEST INFORMATION:

Contestants must show up 15 minutes prior to start time to enter and pick up their competitor’s mustache. They don’t mention a limit, but you may want to call or get there early to make sure you can get your shot at winning.

Bestfoodchallenges.com Welcomes Matt “Sweet Tooth” Cohen as a Contributor

We are pleased to welcome Matt “Sweet Tooth” Cohen as a contributor to our site. Matt is a competitive eater that has competed in over 75 eating competitions and has also successfully completed over 30 food challenges, all in the past three years. We look forward to having his expertise on competitive eating, as well as giving us the view point of a successful food challenger.

Matt has just started a youtube channel showcasing some of his eating feats. Make sure to check out his TOOTHchannel often as he is just starting to upload his many videos.

“Sweet Tooth,” living up to his nickname, is the defending champion of Farrells Ice Cream Parlor Summer Ice Cream Eating Spectacular Challenge. We look forward to him sharing his preparation for this event and to see if he can set the Farrell’s consumption speed record for the third year in a row.

Stray Cat Cafe – Man Vs Food Cheese Steak Challenge

I know the poster says 7 min. but the website and facebook page say 10.

I think this is a first for our site, a spicy cheese steak challenge. But it appears that there is a lot of firsts at this innovated restaurant. To check out a better picture of the Cheese Steak Challenge and to hear an account of one mans conquest of this challenge check out Naader Reda’s blog.

Big Mike’s Cafe Americana – Belt Buster Food Challenge

For big eaters they have a daily pizza, pasta, salad and soup bar, and a weekend breakfast buffet. They also have daily specials for lunch and dinner, and when I looked they had the Belt Buster Burger as a daily special one day for $14.99. Dawg Haus – Big Dawg Challenge

A little bit different type of hot dog eating contest. I can guarantee you no one is going to eat 62 of these dogs in ten minutes.

EATING CONTEST:

Eat 1 pound pound hot dog with 11 toppings (coney sauce, mustard, chopped onions, ketchup, mayonnaise, sweet relish, coleslaw, sauerkraut, nacho cheese, jalapeno and barbecue sauce), approximately 3.5 pounds in total in 15 minutes.

Looking for Competitive Eaters and Restaurants with Food Challenges

Are you a competitive eater looking for a way to promote your name, website or twitter feed? How about a restaurant that has a food challenge that wants help with spreading the word about their challenge and their restaurant in general? Well we at BestFoodChallenge.com want to help you get the word out. We are looking for people to share their exploits with us here. There are several ways that you can utilize our website to get more followers and/or customers. Firstly if you are a restaurant that we have not featured, but would like to be featured on our site fill out the Restaurant Information Form and once verified we will post about your restaurant. If you are a competitive eater, fan of food challenges or a restaurant owner and want to contribute on a regular basis about yours or other peoples eating competitions then become a contributor that allows you to post reports on an ongoing basis. Herbs and Rye Nectaly’s Ribeye Challenge

We got the lead on this one from Juan Rodriguez, a competitive eater, via his twitter feed. Well actually he mentioned they have a 120 ounce ribeye challenge. But there website is under construction and we could only find mention of the 60 ounce challenge.

You have to sign a waiver to take this test and their website reports that “WARNING This sauce is brutally hot and WILL hurt you!” Now how can you resists that?
