If you like sugar, make sure you stop by Voodoo Doughnuts in Portland, OR. They have a massive assortment of products to satisfy any sweet tooth.
For the adventurous eater, there is a special eating challenge available. Polish off a massive Texass Doughnut in 80 seconds or less and it’s on the house. You’re limited to a Dixie cup of water, so you know it’s not going to be easy. I’ve visited Voodoo twice but never took the challenge simply because the shop was too busy to accomodate me.
Still, I insisted on trying the Texass Doughnut for fun. It costs $3.95 and is the equivalent of about six ordinary donuts. I’d guess the weight at nearly one pound, light and airy but weighed down with loads of sugary goodness. I’d eat a dozen if I could!
They have 3 locations in Oregon to serve you. Their shop is cash only, but at least they have an ATM inside and they’re open 24 hours a day. A Freak-Eater like me can appreciate that.
